PTI Core Committee Meeting – Press Release – 29^th Aug 2023

An important meeting of the core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took place today in which following points were discussed:

1. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announces its full support for the nationwide protest against the worst inflation and explosive electricity bills.
2. PTI directed their workers and officials to participate in the peaceful public protest across the country with full preparation.
3. The constitution and laws do not give the rulers the right to suck the blood of the citizens.
4. The doors of this economic disaster were opened 16 months ago by the shameful attack of undemocratic forces against the elected democratic government of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
5. Despite the global epidemic, very high prices in the oil market and the IMF program, Imran Khan successfully saved the people from inflation and the destruction of the economy.
6. When a conspiracy was hatched against Imran Khan, petrol was being provided to the public at Rs 150 per liter while electricity was being provided at Rs 16 per unit.
7. During his tenure, Imran Khan started work on ten major hydropower projects for self-sufficiency in energy.
8. An attempt was made to minimize the financial loss by freeing up the terms and conditions of the absurd contracts signed with the most expensive fuel-powered IPPs.
9. The overall reform of the energy sector was made the focus of attention and uninterrupted supply of electricity to industry and agriculture at subsidized rates was arranged in view of the national production.
10. Abundant financial aid and subsidies were arranged to protect the poor and under privileged population especially from inflation.
11. The tyrants who handed over the country to criminals by putting the constitution and democracy on the tip of their shoes, continue to play with the lives of the people.
12. The follies of these sixteen months have taken away the basic rights of life and livelihood from the people today in the form of a punishment.
13. By imprisoning people through senseless court proceedings, the people have also been deprived of the lone but powerful voice of the Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf.
14. The workers and officials of Tehreek-e-Insaf will fulfill the duty of representing the people despite all the state oppression.
15. The workers and officials should fully participate in the protest against inflation and non-payable electricity bills and be the voice of the people in a peaceful manner.
16. Instead of intensifying the disaster, the caretaker government should focus on conducting elections without delay and transferring decision-making to the elected democratic government.
17. Instead of weaving a web of conspiracies, democracy and the right of the people to vote should be recognized as decisive and clean and transparent elections should be announced and organized within the constitutional period of ninety days.
18. Under the leadership of Imran Khan, Tehreek-e-Insaf is equipped with the ability and determination to bring the nation out of the mire of inflation and destruction and put it on the path of stability and development.
