24th October 2023 News Headlines

A summary of today's important and breaking news regarding PTI and the country that the mainstream media of Pakistan will never show you.

  1. It has been 79 days since the illegal imprisonment of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran Khan has endured continuous injustices for two years, while the entire state seems focused on providing relief and protocol to a criminal, referring to Nawaz Sharif. Today, there was a hearing in the Islamabad High Court regarding the open trial of Chairman Imran Khan's cipher case and an intra-court appeal concerning the appointment of a judge. Justice Gul Hasan Aurangzeb remarked that they could not grant interim relief to Imran Khan. It's noteworthy that the same judge granted bail to Nawaz Sharif in just 420 seconds. This has raised questions among the public about the double standards of justice in Islamabad High Court.
  2. The hearing of Imran Khan's interim bail case has been postponed once again. The hearings of Chairman Imran Khan's cases were held today in the District and Anti-Terrorism Courts. Because the Judge was on leave in the Anti-Terrorism Court, the interim bail hearing of 5 Cases was postponed to November 6, while the trial hearing was postponed to November 21. Along with this, the hearing of 6 interim bails from the District Court was delayed till October 31.
  3. A case against Imran Khan has been going on for the past year and a half regarding legal proceedings against a female judge. Last year, Chairman Imran Khan criticized the decision about the physical remand given to Shahbaz Gill despite the worst violence. Khan asked for legal action against the judge. After this criticism, contempt of court and other fake cases were created against him. Imran Khan went to the court of this female judge and apologized, but the case is still ongoing. The hearing was held today. It was again adjourned till November 11. This case alone proves how Imran Khan is targeted for revenge.
  4. Two different systems seem to be in operation in the country. There's one system fascism for Tehreek-e-Insaf and the general public. The second system, on the other hand, provides Nawaz Sharif with full protocol and all conveniences. During Imran Khan's appearance at the Islamabad High Court, heavy shelling took place, and police were actively enforcing section 144. In contrast, during Nawaz Sharif's appearance, the police remained relatively passive. Nawaz Sharif's supporters reportedly mistreated journalists, but no action was taken against them. Additionally, judges had to wait for Nawaz Sharif's arrival, while Imran Khan's lawyers would face consequences for being late. The preferential treatment of Nawaz Sharif is raising questions among the public.
  5. The unconstitutional caretaker Punjab government has gone to extraordinary lengths to provide favors to Nawaz Sharif by suspending his sentence. The Punjab caretaker cabinet suspended Nawaz Sharif's sentence in the Al-Azizia reference using Section 401 of the Penal Code, which typically applies to repeat offenders involved in theft and robbery. This decision effectively labeled Nawaz Sharif as a habitual offender. However, there are questions regarding the authority under which the caretaker government could annul a criminal's punishment. This move is widely viewed as a direct violation of both the Constitution and the rules of the Election Commission.Speaking on the daily talk show, Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Information Secretary Rauf Hasan and Chairman Imran Khan's lawyer Barrister Gohar said, "Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq is a very biased judge, we have said to his face that We don't trust you, still hearing the cases. We are going to the Supreme Judicial Council against him. These judges have been appointed to punish. The brutal killing of Arshad Sharif Shaheed has been a stain on our judicial system for a year. When the purpose of the investigation is not to punish the murderers but to save the murderers, then the state is weak. There is no constitution, no law, and no moral value left.” Barrister Gohar said, "We are going to the Supreme Judicial Council against Aamer Farooq. If Imran Khan is again illegally sentenced, what will be our legal and political steps? What will be the impact of the Supreme Court's decision on military courts?" "
  6. Central President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was produced in the court today. His date of indictment is fixed on November 21. Talking to the media, Pervaiz Elahi said, "Nawaz Sharif should first take account of his brother who broke the records of inflation. Nawaz Sharif has become a fake Mandela. It will be known in the election. If we don't get a chance in the election, we will not sit silently." I have been in jail for five months and will continue to be with Imran Khan.
  7. Khadija Shah's case was heard in Lahore High Court today. The court declared the reply of CCPO Lahore unsatisfactory. Instructed for resubmission of the reply. Hearing adjourned till October 27. "The court can see what is happening. If this continues, the law will take its course". Remarks given by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi.
  8. State fascism continues against Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders. Punjab Police invaded Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Umar Aftab Dhillon's house and arrested his father. Aftab Dhallon is 82 years old. He has knee pain and severe respiratory disease. No case has been registered against Aftab Dhillon. The only reason for his arrest is that Aftab Dhillon's son, Umar Aftab Dhillon, is a former MPA of PTI.
  9. Senior jurist Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, in an interview on the GNN news program, stated that action should be taken against the officers who saluted Nawaz Sharif. He mentioned that if anyone assists a criminal who escaped from jail, they can be penalized for up to seven years under section 216. He also emphasized that it's the duty of every citizen to aid in the recapture of an escaped prisoner.
  10. The price of sugar has once again increased. The Utility Stores Corporation raised the cost of subsidized, affordable sugar by Rs. 8 per kilogram, resulting in a price of Rs. 155 per kilogram for regular consumers. This rise in prices extends to other essential items as well, with the cost of ghee per kilogram increasing by Rs. 25, bringing it up from Rs. 398 to Rs. 423. Similarly, the price of cooking oil per kilogram has also reached Rs. 370.
