A lady Farah was attacked with acid 2 months ago in Lahore, she lodged FIR against the perpetrators but she
& her mother told tht Gulshan ravi police still had not arrested the culprits, instead the police was raiding &
arresting & intimidating the victim family members. They told me they needed justice. I also went with them to
the police station and was shocked at the behavior of the police with the masses. Anyway the police assured
us that they will arrest the culprits soon. It is very imp to give Exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of
inhumane acts such as acid,so that No one should dare to do such ghastly crime in future. if we let them roam
freely with impunity,acid attacks will continue to destroy lives of our sisters & daughters.I appealed to the
punjab CM & IGP to give Farah justice. The Police mostly sides with the criminals. No legislation is properly
implemented to give punishment to criminals.There must be Police Complaint cells at the RPO, IGP & CM level
to lodge complaints agnst police officials. Unfortunately majority of acid attacks in Pak take place in punjab but
no adequate burn centre facilities fr the patients.Just one burn ward with 12 beds in Mayo Hospital is providing
treatment to the entire Punjab. Burn centers need to be increased. Surgical tower in Mayo hospital needs 2 bn
funds but allocated only 10 million in budget. These facilities must be increased in all provinces in pakistan. All
the provincial governments of Pakistan must set up a fund for the acid victims for their continued treatment
expenses & for their Financial Support. Legislation must also be reviewd to fix maximum punishment fr the
culprits. My aim was not to criticise someone but only went there to help the victims in getting justice.
