
Country Heading Towards Another Electricity Crisis: PTI
PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhary said PMLN Government???s utter bad governance has been exposed as the country has been hit by crisis after crisis; a new electricity crisis is about the hit the country as the furnace oil reserves has been almost depleted. He said Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has no live furnace oil stocks in the country.
He said the oil marketing companies (OMCs) were required to carry statutory reserves but Government has not learned from the worst petrol crisis in the history of country in January.
Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said the reason behind the misgoverned Government is nepotism and avoiding merit in any appointment. She said lucrative positions are filled not on merit but political affiliations. She said it has been established now that the Government does not have the capability to deal with any kind of crisis.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said incompetence, corruption, nepotism and will to run the affairs of Government on merit is the real cause behind all of country's socio-economic mess. She said oil-marketing companies (OMCs) are continuously violating their licensing agreement that they will keep statutory reserves, the role of monitoring institutions is under question.
She said those who were at the helm of affairs have made billions during petrol crisis.
She said Finance Minister instead of playing with cooked up figures should foresee the crisis looming because of inept management of circular debt and develop emergency plan as in summers this crisis is going to cripple the industry and the poor people. She said that the government is busy in horse-trading by fitting in candidates of other provinces in Islamabad senate seats while the economy of Pakistan is heading towards another severe crisis.
