PTI Punjab President EjazChaudhary strongly condemned Punjab Police baton charge on farmers who were protesting outsideLahore Press Club against anti farmer polices of PMLN Government. He said it is a shameful that Punjab Police not only severely beat them but also detained them.
He said Shabaz Sharif is such an actor that he first ordered Punjab Police to beat peaceful protestors whether they are blind people, doctors or farmers then takes notice of police baton charge and asks them to release the detained.
He said Punjab Police has become an armed wing of Khadam e Alla whom he uses for political gains.
Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said farmer's protest is justified and the hard working farmers have every right to protest against Government policies. But in Sharif Brothers style of democracy no one is allowed to raise his or her voices if some one dares so then Punjab Police is there to manhandle them just to please its political boss.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said farming has always been country???s economic engine and if Government will continue with its anti farming polices then sooner Pakistan???s economy will collapse.She said it is due to these anti farming polices that Punjab agriculture growth has been the lowest in the four provinces.
She said electricity is almost free for Indian farmers and there is 90 % subsidy on drip irrigation system but here in Pakistan PMLN is in no mood to facilitate the poor farmers.
She said if Government really wants to boost up agriculture then it must negotiate with Pakistan KisanIttehad leaders.
Andleeb Abbas criticized police manhandling of the farmers she said Sharif family has deeply politicized Punjab Police they consider them their personal servants. She said police has to rethink its role and should perform within professional sphere.
