Khairpur Road Accident Result Of Lack Of Governance: PTI Punjab | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

PTI Punjab President EjazChaudhary has expressed deep grief over Khairpur road accident, which claimed 13 lives and 15 other, injured. He said in November last year 58 people died in road accident in Khairpur but Sindh Government is in deep slumber did not take any precautionary measures to stop ongoing road accidents.

He said government should seriously contemplate to do away with single carriageways, speciallyinter city roads to stop ongoing accidents.
 
Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said Pakistan has worst road safety record. She said negligence of traffic police, road encroachments; sudden and severe road damages having no road signs and vehicle roadworthiness are the reasons road accidents reaching exponential proportions in the recent years. She said Government need to enforce strictroad safety laws.
 
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said she does not know how many such incidents will happen in future and then the government will take the responsibility. But the focus of Government lies to build metros and motorways not to repair already existing roads she said.

She said it is unfortunate that drivers either do not have driving licenses or they get the license by paying bribe as most of the accidents occur due to reckless driving.

Andleeb Abbas expressed condolences over the fatal mishap and demanded compensation for the victims from the government.
