PTI Punjab President EjazChaudhary said President MamnoonHussain has confessed that annual corruption in Pakistan is one trillion rupees. He said
unfortunately In Pakistan PPP and PMLN during last 30 years tried to fleece people at every level. He said lack of political will on the part of the
governments to make effective laws and implement them means that government action to fight corruption is largely ineffective. Political
interference in NationalAccountability Bureau means that the agency is selective in conducting investigations he added.
He said in Pakistan there are no consequences of being corrupt hence no ne is afraid of law especially the political elite. The political elite of PPP
and PMLN have stowed billion of rupees abroad during their respective tenures but every time they escape the law because the system is not
delivering he added.
Secretary General Yasmin said it is shameful that Pakistan is among the most corrupt countries. She said if President MamnoonHussain wants
corruption to end,he should start that from his own party who got him elected. She said democracy does not mean loot and plunder of public
funds and thus the current democracy is a sham democracy since the ruling elite have accumulated the most for themselves and left the masses poor
and miserable.
She said the problem worsens when society starts accepting a certain level of dishonesty at every level. It was PTI 126 days long sit-in that has
awokenthe nation and now that the public knows who is corrupt and who is not they will not tolerate such leaders, she added. She said if PTI was not
there the MukMuka between PPP and PMLN on corruption would have continued.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said President MamnoonHussain has been given a position of responsibility and not just of privilege thus why
doesn???t he paly his role to eliminate the menace of corruption. She saidcorruption is a menace engulfing the tangible and intangible resources of
the country but the ruling elite does not want to make NAB a powerful institution, which infact has become a protector of corrupt elite.
She said it is not expected from the present regime that it will take appropriate steps to harness the corruption in Pakistan. She said PTI
government in KP has established aruthless accountability mechanism in the province where even Chief Minster is answerable. This is just the
beginning and it will be in every part of Pakistan when PTI I will govern the entire nation she added.
