PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary has strongly condemned terrorist attack on Ismaili community members in Karachi. He expressed deep sorrow and grief over loss of lives in terrorist attack on a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community near Safoora Chowk in Karachi, which claimed lives of 43 people and 13 others were injured. He said attack on innocent people is deeply saddening. Such heinous act is sheer barbarity and these beasts are not humans; who are these people that want to kill innocent he added. He said Ismailis are the most peace loving citizens of Pakistan and their continuous killings are because of the failure of the law enforcement agencies. He said unfortunately National Action Plan failed to deliver the recent surge in target killings in Karachi are a clear message that terrorist once again are gaining ground in Karachi.
He questioned how long do we need to wait before taking any action against these sick people who are targeting particular communities. The time has come to eradicate the twin menace of terrorism and sectarianism he added.
Secretary General Yasmin Rashid also condemned the dastardly act of the terrorists in Karachi, who are waging a war against the citizens of Pakistan and trying to divide them into groups by targeting specific communities. She said Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has no moral ground to hold CM's chair any more as he has been badly failed to maintain law and order in the province particularly in Karachi.
She said Ismailis are a peaceful community they have done much good to the general public and thus to protect them is state???s responsibility. She said what would it take for government to finally act and eliminate the terrorist. The longer we wait, the harder it will be to eliminate them she added.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas condemned the target-killing incident in strongest words. She said it was a very sad day for Pakistan; cruelty is at its peak and no one is safe here. She said if we do not punish the terrorist they would keep on killing innocent people. Yesterday 8 years passed after 12th May 2007 Karachi riots, and Karachi riots where a series of violent clashes erupted but to date no one know who the culprits were. She said these terrorists are going after the innocent people who have done no harm and their only fault is that they are practicing their faith.
She said Karachi is a sensitive city and Altaf Hussain has been preaching violence and was asking people to take commando training where he wants them to take the law in their own hands. That alone sufficiently exposed his true intentions that he has no meaningful desire for peace she added.
