PTI slams PMLN on Medical Terrorism in the Province | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary said it is a matter of shame for Shabaz Sharif that his own MPA has raised the voice on the floor of the provincial assembly through an adjournment motion on terrible condition of public hospitals in the province. He said the MPA has confessed that Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Children Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital are treating three to four patients on one bed. If this is the situation of the public hospitals in the provincial metropolitan the public can imagine the worst health care facilities in the far off areas of Punjab he added. He said Khadam e Alla needs to mend his way of governance, as he is health minister and trying to run the health ministry through his health advisor. Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on health has not been able to settle the issues of young doctors during last four years and thus how can such incompetent persons run the entire health ministry he added.

Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a 50:1 ratio of general ward to ICU beds and there should be a trained nurse for each bed in the ICU. She said as per the WHO Global Code of Practice on International Recruitment of Health Personnel the ratio of nurses to population is estimated to be one nurse to 3,626 people in Pakistan. But unfortunately here in Pakistan the situation is worst, as no one is ready to invest on health she added. She said Sharif Brothers are governing for past 30 years but still they are not been able to change the fate of public hospitals. She said she wished Sahbaz Sharif could listen to his MPA and start thinking about the poor patients who have no other choice but to visit public hospitals for treatment.

Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the self proclaimed Khadam e Alla has no understanding of patient suffering in the public hospitals. He always goes to hospital in London for his treatment that too on public money she added. She said if the Chief Minister got his treatment from any of public hospital wards then he would gets first-hand knowledge of people???s problems. She said ruling class always gets treatment from abroad for even minor ailments. Sharif Brothers can never relate to problems of a common man she added. She said public hospital???s emergency are in pathetic conditions and they present a picture of gross mismanagement.

She said KP has turned around public hospitals within two years but unfortunately in Punjab no one is ready to spend on health and education.
