PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhary said the tripping and continued power outages
have become a matter of routine even in holy month of Ramzan. Instead of
resolving the on going power crises Sharif Brothers are asking people to
shutdown their air conditioners he added. He said the air conditioners are
already shutdown as with 18 hours prolonged power cuts and low voltage
people cannot even turn on fans. How about asking all the government
functionaries including Prime Minister and President and all ministers to
shutdown air conditioners in their cushy and lavish tax paid offices and
homes he added. He said Nawaz Sharif the Prime Minister of the country
should switch off his air conditioner to set an example and to express the
solidarity with the nation. He said public wants to know what happened
with Nandipur, Gadani and Thar coal power projects and where are
thousands of MWs electricity, which these projects were, supposed to
generate.
PTI leader Yasmin Rashid said she has never seen such incapable and
incompetent government in her entire life Sharif Brothers have been badly
exposed and their so-called experienced team which is busy paying lip
service. One day would come when Sharif Brothers will request the nation
to stop drinking water to solve water crisis, stop going out of homes to
avoid being victims of terrorists she added. She said the incompetent Sharif
Brothers wants us to stop using basic utilities of the life but when would
they start actually performing. She said those who are requesting the
people not to use ACs would get first hand experience if they have to fast
and live with 18 hours load shedding.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said Sharif Brothers want to see
more people dead as a result of heatstroke as they are not happy with
Ministry of Water and Power performance, which was responsible for 1500
deaths in Karachi. How do people cut consumption of electricity, which
they get only for 4 hours a day she questioned? She said in sweltering heat,
which in itself is hazard s people are force to survive without electricity. In
any other civilized country in the world the government would have had to
resign due its failure to provide basic necessities of life but in Sharif
Brothers rule they just pass the buck she added. She said Pakistan could
have all the infrastructure in the world, but we are worse than Somalia and
Rwanda if government cannot provide electricity to its citizens who are
dying because of extreme weather. To keep IMF happy Sharif Brothers have
increased power tariff she added. She said Sharif Brothers have done no
miracle for Pakistan but have surrendered the country to economic hit men
working for IMF.
