PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhary strongly condemned PML-N vandalism during by-poll in Gujranwala yesterday. How can we call the election free fair and transparent in the presence of biased district administration which gave free hand to PML-N armed men to terrorized the voters with heavy guns. It is impossible to have free and transparent election when the local police become a partner of a contending party and help them to win the election he added. He said Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was well aware of the fact that Gujranwala is a tough city but ECP officials took no precautionary measures. The only thing ECP did was to take notice of the violation of the code of conduct and moves away he added.
PTI leader Yasmin Rashid questioned the role of police she asked what police was doing when PML-N gangsters were smashing windows of PTI candidate cars? PML-N goons always create terror scenes like harassing opposition candidate and his supporters she added. She said how could we say election was transparent in this terrorized environment; the facts suggest that come what may PML-N will emerge victorious. The police which is only loyal to ruling party has shamelessly arrested PTI supported, those who were terrorizing the voters comes clean she added.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the entire federal and provincial machinery was lined up and was given the task to secure the seat in the favor of PML-N. Despite having all the resources on its disposal PML-N has lost its vote bank in PP-100, in 2013 general election PML-N candidate has secured 54118 votes. In the by-poll PML-N candidate has secured 49,991 votes as per the unofficial result she added. She said on the other hand PTI got 14618 votes last time, it was by-election but PTI's vote has increased two times this this time PTI has secured 28,380 votes. Statistics have proven that who is the real winner she added.
