PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhary said a famous investigative journalist has exposed unholy nexus of PML-N and PPP on corruption. PPP and PMLN during last 30 years tried to fleece people at every level and they have Muk Muka on corruption that none of them would hold accountable the other one he added. He said National Accountability Bureau has turned a blind eye on mega corruption cases of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and Makhdoom Amin Fahim, the main accused in the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) corruption scandal. Proceeding against Yousaf Raza Gillani and Makhdoom Amin Fahim has been closed despite having strong evidence against them he added. He said political interference of Sharif Brothers in NAB means that the agency is selective in conducting investigations against thecorrupt ruling elite.
PTI leader Yasmin Rashid said she is not surprised by the news, as it is not expected from the present regime that it will take appropriate steps to harness the corruption in the country. There is no country in the world that has such corrupt political elite that we unfortunately have in Pakistan, who does not care about accountability and transparency in the country she added. She said under this sham democracy the ruling elite patronage the corrupt. She questioned where are the Sharif Brothers now who promised stern action against Asif Ali Zardari and his companions over corruption and wanted to rip open their bellies and drag them in the streets to make them return looted money
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the political elite of PPP and PMLN have stowed billion of rupees abroad during their respective tenures but every time they escape the law because NAB chairman is protecting their interests and would never take any action against the Muka Muka group. Corruption is a menace engulfing the tangible and intangible resources of the country she added. She said democracy does not mean loot and plunder of public money. The current ruling elite has accumulated most for them and left the masses poor and miserable in the floods she added. She said PPP and PML-N are not going to take on each other when it comes to accountability and hence prove that the PPP and PML-N are the guardians of the corrupt status quo.
