PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhary strongly condemned firing incident in Batapur area of Lahore. The trigger happy Zohaib Butt brother of sitting PML-N MNA opened fire and injured two women and as many children, including a two-month-old innocent girl. He said first we have seen Mustafa Kanju brother of PML-N MNA from Lodhran has killed Zain a 16 years motorcyclist in Lahore and now this incident has proven that poor are left to die at the hands of powerful ruling elite. The Punjab police is only protecting Sharif Family and their cronies while they have miserably failed to control the law and order situation in the city he added. He said justice in Mustafa Kanju case has yet to be seen as if justice gets done then we can avoid any future mishaps of this kind.
PTI leader Yasmin Rashid said the firing incident shows that no one is safe in provincial metropolitan let alone the far off areas of the province. Shabaz Sharif needs to come out of his virtual world and see what is going on around him, Khadim e Alla should not let Lahore turn into another Karachi she added. She said Shabaz Sharif thinks he can control everything via videoconferences while sitting in air-conditioned room. The deteriorating law and order situation in the province is a stark challenge to the provincial government she added.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said as always Shabaz Sharif has done his usual that is just taken notice of the incident. How can police, which is protecting the MNA, can arrest his brother she questioned? She said Shabaz Sharif has directed police to arrest the suspects involved in the firing. Perhaps Sharif Brothers should devote some attention to the attitude of people in their party who behave as if they own people's lives and can take the law in their hands without any fear she added. She said people would like to see if justice could be done this time. She said powerful and affluent ruling elite thinks human life can be bought with money then that kills the sense of justice in this country. She demanded that Zohaib Butt brother of MNA should not be allowed any privileges and should be taken to the jailed and punished.
