PTI demands media person???s security from the govt.

Presdient Ejaz Ch severely condemned the attack on Raza Roomi and expressed great grief and sorrow on the killing on his driver he said that it was shameful act from the criminal elements against the freedom of the press. He said while a lot of attentions has been paid for the security of the leaders by the laghari for the prime minister given all assurance of extra security to him, while the media persons who were at the maximum risk because they were exposing the truths to the society were not being given the security they deserve. He said that the govt. had totally failed to protect any segments of the society being a politician or the civil society people or media people and the ordinary citizens of Pakistan. He said that today no body feels safe getting out of their house as they know that weather is it a day light or a night time criminal elements encouraged by the lack of governance are ready  attack anybody at any time. He said that he politicization of the police force where posting and transfer were done on the basis of political affiliation had greatly encouraged crime to shoot up and places like Lahore and Islamabad were open to attack as were evident by the violence in the courts in Islamabad and now on the streets of Lahore. He demanded that the govt immediately announce emergency steps to safeguard the lives of the media persons so that they could carry on their jobs with safety and security.

Andleeb Abbas information sec said that the two pillars who are keeping pakistan alive that is an independent judiciary and independent media had both come under attack in the last one month and that also in the cities which are capital cities and have been claimed to be high alert high security cities. She said that if the target killing and attack are going on these high alert security places that one can imagine what state of security can be more in backward and rural areas, she demanded that the govt must compensate the security guard and the driver for their losses of their life and injuries and their families should be taken care of as it was the state responsibility. She appreciated and acknowledged the vibrant role the media had played in taking there voce against injustices even at the cost of their own lives. She said that the govt. must ensure complete security for the media industry as capability of media to keep on speaking the truth is definitely be affected if the criminal elements feels that they can get away with there threatening violence. She said that PTI was all for the media independence and security and would raise this issue in the assembly and on every platform who pressurize the govt. to take this issue seriously.
