PTI demands immediate reduction in load shedding
PTI carried out a protest against load shedding demanding the government to take notice of the misery in which people are living in temp above 40 Degrees Temperature. PTI General Secretary Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that while the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister Punjab enjoy cold weather in UK and the people of Pakistan are boiling in heat due to the electricity which is only available for a few hours. She said that this government is completely to blame for deceiving the people of Pakistan by spending billion of rupees on electricity campaign in which the Chief Minister and Prime Minister are promising to be the people voice and also that they will finish load shedding. She said that the not only the electricity not available the price of the electricity has become double and the bills of electricity are so high that it is forcing people to do electricity theft. She said that the corruption and the incompetence of the present government has today forced PTI and the people of Pakistan to come out on the streets and demand a basic rights for themselves which is the provision of uninterrupted electric supply.
PTI opposition Leader Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ur Rashid said that the government has spent 500 Billion rupees on increasing the supply of electricity but still the conditions have gone worst. He demanded that the government tells us where the 500 Billion rupees of public money has gone and why the load shedding is still increasing as compared to the last year. He said as the leader of the opposition he has been raising this question in the assembly and PTI has been protesting but Chief Minister is busy with his brother and the Sharif family in taking foreign vacations and hardly ever comes to the assembly. He said that if the government is not interested in either coming to the assembly or either taking care of the problems of the common man they should resign. He said it is because the government does not need the vote of the people as they have rigged the whole elections that they don???t care about the welfare of the people.
PTI MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal said that in every house hold lack of electricity has paralyzed life and in every factory the electricity cost has made the cost of production so high that people are now closing down their factories increasing unemployment on a high rate.
PTI Secretary Information Punjab Andleeb Abbas said that the government had also lied on the shortage of electricity as they have said 3000 Mega Watts shortage exists while now they admit that the actual shortage is 6000 Mega Watts. She said that no energy sector reforms has taken place as they have promised in their manifesto and the corruption in LESCO and other institutions is still high for which the price is being paid by the common man through excessive billing. She said that PTI has protested in all 36 districts of Punjab today against this load shedding and will continue protesting till the government listens to the voice of the people.
