After Destroying Trees in Islamabad PLM-N Turns to Lahore: PTI | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhary said on one hand Pakistan is facing severe

climate changes and we have lost 1300 precious lives in Karachi because of

extreme weather on the other hand Sharif Brothers after destroying

Islamabad the best planted city of Asia and now Sharif Brothers are bent

upon destroying 620 trees of Lahore. These 620 trees would be engulfed

during construction of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project he added.

He said of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train would not only destroy the trees

but it would have severe impact on city environment. He said Sharif

Brothers obsession for mega projects keep shocking the nation. After

building the world's most expensive Metro Bus tracks in Lahore and

Rawalpindi- Islamabad they are ready to burn 165 billion of a poor nation

on single Metro Train he added. He said materialistic interest of Sharif

Brothers would damage the entire social fabric of the country the death of

underprivileged and poor citizen in Karachi has not lessened their lust for

commissions and kickbacks.

PTI leader Yasmin Rashid said ill informed Minister for Climate Change

Mushahidullah Khan has said that the coal-powered plants in Rajasthan,

India, could have contributed to the deadly Karachi heat wave. But he does

not know what his masters are doing to destroy country???s environment as

they are destroying tree plantation and want to install coal-based power

plants she added. She said Sharif brothers blame India for everything be it

heat wave, terrorism, water shortage or electricity short fall but do not

have the courage to take up issue with India. She said Sharif Brothers only

know how to make money from mega projects but they do not know trees

filter particles from the air, including dust, ozone, carbon monoxide and

other air pollutants.

PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said Sharif Brothers have already

destroyed thousands of trees in Lahore by chopping trees to execute their

ambitious Lahore Canal Bank Road Widening Project by violating Supreme

Court order. She said trees are valued for balancing oxygen, carbon dioxide

and humidity in air and protecting watersheds. PTI government in Khyber-

Pakhtunkhwa has launched Billion Tree Tsunami campaign in the province

by recognizing importance of trees she added. She said PTI government

aims to plant one billion trees across the province to increase forestlands

by 22% and even the foreign media is appreciating this move. She said

people would like to see Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan

to take action against Punjab government for destroying trees in Lahore.
