Dr. Yasmin Raashid advisor to PTI Chairman said after auditor general of Pakistan (AGP) report that says embezzlement, misappropriation and irregularities of around Rs980 billion were found in the accounts of Ministry of Water and Power in the audit year 2013-14 Sharif Brothers and Khawaja Asif who always boast about transparency should hang their heads with shame. Ministry of Water and Power is being plundered with the biggest robbery of the history she added. She said this graft of Rs980 billion was caught from just one ministry and the poor nation has no idea how many billions from public money have been stolen by the so-called public representatives. The auditor general of Pakistan has asked the president to order investigations into the graft case she added and the toothless president would not do anything against the big fish because if he would do so he would be sent home. She said NAB and FIA should arrest Minister of Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif and junior Minister Abid Sher Ali for this rampant corruption and investigate them ruthlessly. The public wants to see culprits behind the bars for causing colossal loss to public exchequer she added.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the embezzlement of Rs980 billion is just a tip of the iceberg and every one knows corruption unleashed by PML-N in the name of building of so-called new power projects and awarding their cronies by settling circular debt. This is the test case for Sharif Brothers who always takes high moral grounds she said. The public wants to see if this time any action would be taken against Khawaja Asif and Abid Sher Ali or auditor general of Pakistan would meet his fate for spilling the beans she added. She said auditor general of Pakistan report is a charge sheet against Khawaja Asif and Abid Sher Ali. The auditor general of Pakistan has also made observations over Rs4.2 trillion in an unsettled audit backlog from the past few years she added. Unfortunately it has been two years since Sharif Brothers assumed power and their unholy Muk Muka with PPP has not allowed them to investigate famous Raja Rental PPP Minister of Water and Power who later becomes Prime Minster she added. She said if sitting minister could be arrested in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over corruption charges then why not action to be taken against Water and Power ministers. Public wants to see corrupt ruling elite behind the bars and halfhearted efforts only provide incentive for others the NAB have to be ruthless to get rid of the corruption menace she added.
