Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab Organiser Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar has slammed the PML-N government on miserable conditions of women in Pakistan and released a ???fact sheet??? on Saturday. Sarwar said that on average some six are abducted, four are raped ,three commit suicide and six are killed every day in Pakistan. He claimed that as many as 15.1 million girls were forced to get married under the age of 16.
Fact sheet stated that some 76 women had been burnt to death within a year for different causes. Sarwar asserted that over 90 acid throwing incidences were reported Pakistan and claimed that alone in Punjab, as high as 7600 cases of domestic violence against women were reported .He claimed that in Punjab alone as many as 320 women were killed over ???honour killing??? in 2015. The document said that Over the 1000 incidences of women abduction and some 150 cases of rape and molestation were reported. Sarwar said that women were forced to commit suicide and self ???immolation due to unavailability of justice.
The fact sheet said that even the provincial capital (Lahore) was not safe where school going girls were gang raped. Former governor claimed that PMLN fedral and provincial governments were failed to ensure women rights and innocent girls were raped in the provincial capital on almost daily bases.
Sarwar claimed that according to women rights organization Shirkat Gaah, in Pakistan some 50 pc women were married off upto the age of of 19,Some 13 pc girls were married off as they reached 15 years of age.,some 9 pc women become mothers between 15 to 19 years of age. He claimed that as compared to other provinces ,honour killing incidences in Punjab were highest and said that As high as 340 women were killed over honor .
PTI organizer claimed that as many as 3500 cases of domestic violence were reported out of which only 50 pc culprits were not arrested and prosecuted..Fact sheet claimed that Pakistan was world???s fourth-most dangerous country when it came to violence against women. Fact also claimed that alone in Punjab over 50 women committed suicide because of unemployment every year.Sarwar also claimed that Punjab government spectacularly failed in implementing legislative measures and it was main cause behind worst violence against women in Punjab.
