Dr. Yasmin Raashid advisor to PTI Chairman said the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Anwar Zaheer Jamali while addressing in Lahore has rightly analyzed the cause behind the failure of Pakistan i.e. corruption and mismanagement. Unfortunately current ruling elite, which is in power for the last 35 years, is soaked incorruption and is in no mood to leave their old habits she added. She said the people ruling for the last three decades are responsible for mega corruption but unfortunately they are so entrenched in system that every time they are nabbed on corruption charges they come out clean. Pakistan desperately needs a ruthless accountability system, which can hold the ruling elite accountable for their corrupt practices she added. She said National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the corruption watchdog, was hand in glove with the government of the day. NAB has miserably failed to control the menace of corruption in the country; instead it has become a facilitator for the corrupt lot she added.
She said we the common people of Pakistan would keep on suffering at the hands of this interconnected mafia of elites if we keep electing them time and again. She urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to step in and define some mechanism to deal with the corrupt elite.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb said Chief Justice of Pakistan has just unfolded the bitter reality behind the gloomy sate of affairs. There is no second thought that it is corruption, which is propelling Pakistan towards disaster she added. She said Pakistan could not progress until and unless we do not adopt zero tolerance policy against corruption with 100 percent transparency. All projects executed by PML-N during the past two and half years lack in transparency whether it was Nandipur or Metro in Lahore and Rawalpindi she added. She said last week the entire nation witnessed the drop scene of 18 years old long-drawn corruption case against Asif Ali Zardari in the SGS-Cotecna case when he was absolved in the case as a result of Muk Muka between PPP and PML-N. Now to fool the nation again the NAB on Wednesday has approached Islamabad High Court requesting it to overturn the findings of the trial court she added. She said this drama again would continue for the rest two and half years. She said in July this year when NAB submitted a report containing details of 150 mega corruption cases before the Supreme Court of Pakistan the moment of the shame for the nation was that current Prime Minster his brother, former premiers and ministers had their names as most corrupt in the list. NAB has miserably failed and we request that now the Supreme Court should follow the case and take to task all the lot of 150 corrupts who use illegal influence peddling and abusing power she added. She termed Chief Justice statement a charge sheet against the PML-N government.
