Khadam-i-Punjab Daihi Roads Programme Is Another Name Of Corruption: PTI
PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary has termed Khadam-i-Punjab Daihi Roads Programme another project to loot the public funds. He said like always the near and dears of Sharif Family will be awarded in the form of contractors. He said the hefty amount of Rs150 billion would be spend in the name of repair and construction of roads in the rural areas of the province, but the ultimate beneficiaries will be the friends and family of Sharif Brothers whom the contracts would be awarded.
He questioned why the project has been launched at this time when the local government elections are to be held and why Khadam e Alla did not wait and award the contracts to local government representatives.
Secretary General Yasmin said Sharif Brothers instead of building roads and bridges should focus on Nation building, but their narrow vision did not allow them to think beyond winning elections. She said such projects should be of secondary natures Punjab is devoid of primary health care facilities and safe drinking water while Sharif Brothers are bent upon building roads.
She said what lies at the very foundation of Sharif Family is corruption, and total absence of ethics and morality.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said Sharif Brothers have not contributed in education, health infrastructure and institution building any time during their 30 years rule in Punjab. She said there have been countries much worse than Pakistan and they have developed quite fast, once the will to do what is right was found, but unfortunately, for both PMLN or PPP the focus was to win the elections by hook or crook.
She said ruling elite had no vision of the problems of people. She said if state fails to give people health care, education and basic facilities and neglects their rights then people find other ways to get the things done she added.
She said building of roads is not the answer of the problems of load shedding, unemployment and illiteracy.
