PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary said the public is shocked at Shabaz Sharif's obsession with mega projects. After Metro Bus Khadam e Alla has signed an agreement for a 27-kilometre-long Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project that is going to cost more than the budget on health, education or water purification.
He said Pakistan is facing economic disasters as poverty, unemployment, corruption, nepotism, education and health problems. He added that the nation wants these multifaceted problems to be removed not the Metro Buses or the Metro Trains. He said Saif Ur Rehman group's involvement in these deals is still not clear while the metro bus projects in Islamabad and Lahore are already termed as the most costly and the most environmentally damaging projects in Asia.
Secretary General Yasmin said there is no limit to senselessness in Sharif style of democracy. She questioned that what is the use of Metro Trains if you cannot provide basic facilities to your people. She said Sharif Brothers could have spent this money on barrages and dams to generate electricity, which has become a rare commodity due to sheer incompetence of PMLN ministers. She said we don not have any rational for this luxury at this moment when our economy is struggling to survive.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said Sharif Brothers and commission mafia should check their priorities if they really want to do something for country. She said the fake mandated government is not the people???s representative government other wise they would have been working in the interests of the people of Pakistan not for their pockets.
She said the shortsighted Sharif Brothers would keep justifying these multi billion projects as long as their own businesses are making money.
She said under the beautiful carpeted roads of Lahore the drains have poliovirus and the risk of contracting the crippling disease is increasing as discovered in the latest sample from Lahore. She said what a tragedy this is that this project is going to start from Raiwind to jack up all the land prices of the Sharif family and is going to pass ring road and Multan road while under Multan road the water samples today have discovered the most dangerous form of polio virus.
She demanded that Shahbaz Sharif diverts 147 billion rupees of taxpayers money that is going to be spend on this project for the health and education of the 2.5 crore children out of school.
