Non-Party Based Elections Are Undemocratic: PTI Punjab | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

PTI Punjab President EjazChaudhary said Sharif Brothers the self-proclaimed defenders of democracy have shown their true colors as the National Assembly passed the bill for party-less local government elections in Islamabad.

He said PTI would not accept such party-less local government elections at any cost and will challenge Government decision in the court. He said PMLN was known for its deficient democratic credentials as military dictator nurtured them. He said their lethal combination of insecurity and ineptness is now clearly showing through the way they are trying to run the country.

Secretary General Yasmin Rashid it is shameful that ruling elite has no understanding of what democracy is. She said the reason PMLN want to hold party-less local government elections is they will buy the winning candidates, as they know no one is going to vote PMLN candidates after their pathetic governance. She said Sharif Brothers have undemocratic mindset because they remained under the influence of military dictatorship for long time.

Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said unfortunately Sharif Brothers and AsifZardari are symbols of democracy in Pakistan but they don not knows the meaning of democracy. She said PMLN move to hold party-less local government elections will throw the democratic right of public into the jeopardy. She said this is the biggest pre and post poll rigging cause.

She said parliamentarians who have supported the bill need to read the definition of democracy before thinking that Nawaz Sharif is running a democracy. Rejecting the bill she said PTI has all the rights to challenge undemocratic move of the PMLN Government. She said PMLN is confessing their fear of losing elections by resorting to non-party elections.
