PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary said Sharif Brothers obsession for expensive infrastructure development projects is damaging country???s health and education sectors. In the upcoming budget PML-N government has decided to allocate over Rs250 billion for infrastructure sector headed. He said the overall development outlay is around Rs600 billion in 2015-16 budget. He said Sharif Brothers are devoid of any vision as they are keep fueling nation???s resources on the multi billion projects but never think of nation building. No one is ready to invest in education and health sectors only because such projects offer minimum commissions and kickbacks to ruling elite he added. He said these carpeted roads and metro busses are not going to develop Pakistan without education and health. He wished Sharif Brothers could for once think about nation building not the building of roads and flyovers he added.
Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said how could a nation of illiterate survive and thrive in this competitive world where nations are investing heavily in their education system to move ahead but our political elite have no understanding of the importance of what education is. If Sharif Brothers really want to do something positive for the nation then they need to change their priorities.
She said Sharif Brothers are counting chicken before they are hatched on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. She questioned if China is investing on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor then why this hefty amount has been pledged for infrastructure development projects. Sharif Brothers are better advised do something to stop the terrorism first in the country. What is the point in bringing economic prosperity if our people do not feels safe she added? She said PML-N Government is not able to satisfy all the provinces on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor route. The nation cannot afford any kind of feeling of injustice she added.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said she does not understand why education and health is not on priority list of Sharif Brothers. She said now Khadam e Alla is going to outsource the rural health centres (RHCs) and basic health units (BHUs) in the province. By doing so he would make health service out of the reach of the poor people.
She said two kitchen cabinet members of Sharif Family Captain Safdar and Hamza Shahbaz Sharif have been made in charge for approving development projects in the country. Who would ensure transparency of the public funds no one knows. She said it is shameful that Sharif Brothers can spare billions for mega projects while they only spend 2 percent of GDP on education in the country. She said the result of this attitude is that literacy rate has decreased by 2% in the country.
She said Pakistan couldn't progress until and unless we invest in education. It will take few more decades to rediscover this mistake she added. She said the literacy rate continues to fall in the country while our ruling elite does not care for the poor who have been totally marginalized by PMLN.
