Dr. Yasmin Raashid, PTI Punjab Local Bodies Elections campaign manager said continuous target killing of PTI activist by PML-N goons in Lahore has exposed dirty politics of Sharif Brothers. In a similar incidence on Sunday night two PTI workers were shot dead while four others sustained gunshot injuries after PML-N heavily armed terrorist sprayed them with bullets in Yakki Gate area she added. She said NA-122 by-election has given sleepless nights to Sharif Brothers and they are getting scared of PTI's rising popularity. To counter PTI Sharif Brothers have restored to cheap tactics and are fueling a culture of terror and fear ahead of Local Bodies Elections she added. She said Punjab police have badly failed to maintain law and order in the province particularly in Lahore and left the poor PTI activists to die. It is so unfortunate that Punjab police is behaving like a B-Team of PML-N and helping PML-N goons to promote street fights so that an atmosphere of terror and fear can be created she added. She said not only Punjab police is facilitating PML-N candidates but also Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is also fully cooperating PML-N candidates to secure their seats. In NA-120, Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif???s consistency local ECP officials along with PML-N candidates have started pre-poll rigging and ECP has become a salient spectator she added. She urged Chief Election Commissioner to take notice of the pre-election irregularities and appoint neutral ECP officials in NA-120. She demanded appointment of Rangers and Army in the Local Bodies Elections in the entire province for free and fair elections.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said Sharif Brothers need to come out of any illusion that they can push away PTI from the ground by using its militant wing. This is not the first incident when PML-N goons killed the PTI activists. The unfortunate part is that the real killers of PTI activists are roaming freely and police did not bother to arrest any of them she added. She said PML-N has become MQM of Lahore and opposition parties activists are losing lives to political intolerance. She said Sharif Brothers are advised not to instigate politics of violence in the province and face the challenge democratically. The cheap old tactics of Sharif Brothers would not work now as PTI is ready to confront at all levels she added. She said Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif is such an actor that he first sends his armed men to kill people and later takes action of the incidence to prove himself innocent. The politicized Punjab police cannot hold transparent Local Bodies Elections and thus Rangers and Army should be deployed inside and outside of polling stations she added. She said if stern action against the perpetrators is not taken then volatile situation may spiral out of control.
