Dr. Yasmin Raashid advisor to PTI Chairman said ill-fated Nandipur Power Project is another feather in the cap of mismanagement and incompetence of PML-N. Sharif Brothers good governance mantra is a bad joke with the nation and they have always fooled the people in the name of transparency and good governance she added. She said the entire nation has witnessed the example of transparency set by Sharif Brothers as the cost of the Rs23 billion Nandipur Power Project is now a staggering Rs84 billion, making it the most expensive power project in Pakistan. The entire nation knows that corrupt ruling elite has made millions out of this project she added. She said Prime Minster???s so-called strict notice of the closure of the project is not enough. PM knows well that his kitchen cabinet is involved in this colossal mismanagement and huge loss of public exchequer she added. She said just for photo session Sharif Brothers forced WAPDA to run the plant prematurely and at an expensive rate of RS. 42 per unit and thus it was shut down after only five days of operation in May 2015. Sharif Brothers should be held accountable for deceiving the nation she added. She said Nandipur power project has become a white elephant which is not going to be ready to commence production even in near future.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the state of the Nandipur Power Project tells nation about the seriousness of the government in solving the energy crisis. The Sharif Brothers does not see further than their noses, otherwise much could have been done during two and half years about the energy crisis she added. She said she could smell huge corruption in Nandipur Power Project as Sharif Brothers inaugurated the plant prematurely for political reasons. She said Pakistan has got huge potential for hydropower generation, which provides cheapest and environmentally safe energy, but still Sharif Brothers are insisting on diesel and coal based power plants for some unknown reasons. These unknown reasons are very known to every Pakistani i.e. commissions and kickbacks she added. She said Sharif Brothers would have never done this fake inauguration of Nandipur Power Project if it did not give them personal benefit. Motorway, Metro bus, yellow cab, freezing foreign accounts, Qarz utaro mulk sanwaro schemes are a few examples she added. She said after Raja Rental of PPP public is rightly calling Nawaz Sharif, Nawaz Nandipur wala.
