Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf issued ticket to Mr. Wakeel Khan Manj to contest on PP 136 Narowal By-election seat being held on 22-May-2014 in a meeting presided by Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshid, Secretary General Jehangir Khan Tareen and President Punjab Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry. Abrar-ul-haq, Barrister Mansoor Sarwer, Nadeem Nisar, Javed Kahloon were also present.
PTI condemns government on the anti poor policies
PTI President Punjab Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry commenting on the increasing inflation in the country said that the one year performance of the government had only one direction in all policy and budgets that they had made so far and that all of them are anti poor and pro rich policies. He said that the recent increases in the prices of eatables and food items have made the life of a common man miserable. He said all claims by the government that they were trying to control prices were untrue and prices of many items like wheat and more recently potatoes has increases 300%. He said that potatoes forms 20 per kg were now being sold at Rs.60 per kg. Despite that Chief Minister Promise that prices of potatoes will come down to Rs.30 they have remained high. He said that the so is the case with milk prices wheat and many other items. He said that the price control committee which was supportably being monitored by Hamza Shahbaz was complete flop as the cost of having those committees added to even more inflation. He said that Hamza Shahbaz and Bilal Yaseen were using helicopters to go and visit these local markets that a huge cost which was being extracted by increases the prices of basic necessities of the common man.
PTI General Secretary Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that the government???s claim that the medicine prices will be controlled has proven completely wrong as the prices of many products and medicines have increases between 60 to 100%. She said that the poor man cannot even afford to be ill as either in the public hospital he will not find the right treatment at the right time or would be prescribed medicines which he cannot afford. She said that the instances of low quality food products available at high prices combuied with the contaminated water have caused outbreak of dyherea and gastroenteritis and with the onset of summers in the country. She demanded that the government immediately instruct the ministry of health to carry out price control as there was no check on drugs being sold at high prices.
PTI Secretary Information Punjab Andleeb Abbas said that the textile industry was closing down due to load shedding due to high cost of production of energy causing unemployment to thousands of people. She said that recent rise of potatoes prices had made the export of potatoes in competitive. This had forced the exporter to stop buying potatoes from Pakistan have started buying from Bangladesh and other and countries exporting it from there to other countries this has caused a real loss of earning to potatoes growers in Pakistan and also to people involved in packaging and exporting potatoes to foreign countries. Demanded that the government immediately bring down the prices of food items and said that on the 11th of May PTI would prove how rigging the elections not only faked votes but fake policies and fake promises also.
