
PTI Punjab demands special pay raise for labours
PTI Punjab President Ejaz ch speaking to the labor wing PTI said that the Pakistan???s labor was one of the most under paid and over worked labor in the world. He said that the government who had promised to raise the minimum monthly wage of the labor to 18 thousand has backed out from its promises and was barely raising their pays by 10% which was extremely unfair. He said that the due to negligence of this area there were high unemployment and exploitation of labor going on he said that the brick making industry recently was an example where after working in terrible conditions the labor was treated like bonded labor where they were not paid for many months and left to survive on their own. HE demanded that the government announce their labor policies. As on the 1st of May labor all over the world was fighting for their rights and getting more prominent while in Pakistan they were being ignored and neglected. He also paid great tribute to the Pakistan army heroes who had made their life for the cause for the country.
PTI Gen Sec Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that female labor was the most neglected and exploited where domestic violence was taking place on women who were working in homes of people she said that the females were being exploited and harassment and gang rapes were taking on their workplace with very few law s to protect them. She said that PTI passed a resolution and presented the bill against domestic violence in the Punjab assembly on which the government was so reluctant to pass that bill. She demanded that government should immediately pass that bill so that female labor can be protected against henice crimes and also fall into the category to demand minimum wage set b the government.
PTI Sec Information Punjab Andleeb Abbas said that the factory labor was working under terrible working conditions where safety laws were non existence. She said that most of the labor working and exposing in industry were facing accidents and treated like animals which was resulting in lot of International buyers boycotting Pakistan. She said that the recent example of Disney world withdrawing from Pakistan due to bad labor conditions in the country where factories were burned and labor inside were could not survive was an example of negligence of this government and loss of livelihood and production to the country. She demanded that the government immediately increase the pay of labor by 30% and also enforce better working practices demanded by the international labor office so that the poor labor class does not become a victim of the lack of governance and rule of law in this country.
On Labor Day Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Punjab will hold district meeting in Gujranwal District office. Meeting will be chaired by President Punjab Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry. District President Gujranwala Rana Naeem ur Rehman, General Secretary Central Punjab Usman Saeed Basra, Qasim Akram Warraich, other office bearers will also be present.
