
PTI TO CARRY OUT COUNTRY WIDE PROTEST AGAINST LOADSHEDDING
PTI Punjab President Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry commenting on the increase in load-shedding hours and despite the governments assurances that it will decrease with that this is the onset of summer and load shedding has increased up to 16 hours. He said that the because of load shedding and extremely high temperature the life of the common man has become miserable as people are now getting out of their houses to find some shade and relief from the heat. He said that all governments??? promises of reducing load shedding have all become false as the demand supply of electricity supplies is still facing severe shortages. He said that PTI will stand with the common man and declared that all districts of Punjab will be carrying out series of protests after Juma Prayer tomorrow demanding government to immediately relief to the poor people by decreasing the load shedding hours.
PTI General Secretary Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that due to extreme heat and high load shedding water shortages have started happening and people are drinking contaminated water which causes outbreaks of diseases and heat strokes. She said that while the governed were themselves was defaulter o f paying the bill the common man was being asked to bear load shedding and pay high bills to compensate for arrears caused by nonpayment of the bills by the government departments.
PTI Secretary Information Punjab Andleeb Abbas said that the circular debt has increased to Rs 300 billion while the electricity theft amounted to Rs 250 billion. She said that the government has completely failed to decrease debt especially in Punjab that recorded the highest number of electricity cases registered on electricity theft. Out of the 90 thousand cases registered in Pakistan 87000 were registered in Punjab while the minister for water and power Abid Sher Ali was busy trying to close down electricity supplies of Khyber Pakhtun Khwa and other provinces. She said that PTI will carry out protests in all 36 districts of Punjab and will continue till the government decreases the hours of load shedding especially in the rural areas.
