PTI Demands End Of Anti-Labour Laws In The Country | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary in his message on International  Labour
Day called for an end to exploitation of the working class, abolition of
anti-labour laws, unemployment and feudalism. He said the working class was
being deprived of their basic rights and this also in modern times, which they had
achieved after long struggle and sacrifices.

He said rising cost of living and unemployment are the biggest problems
being faced by the working class but the current government has no policies
to end the agony of the working class. He lamented PMLN Governments
silence over anti-labour laws and exploitation of the poor. The Government
failed to implement minimum wage for the labourers he added.

Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said violation of labour laws and the minimum wage
standard has become a norm but labour departments officials are no where
to be found for implementation. She said the power crisis is forcing
layoffs at a time when jobs are already scarce but PMLN Government keeps
wasting countrys resources on useless projects. She said the rights of a
great number of workers remain unprotected and unfortunately many are not
even aware of their rights. She said irrational privatization and
obscurantism is worsening the living conditions of the working class people.

Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas in her message said labourers have been
playing a key role in countrys economy. She said on the pretext of load
shedding, industries were being closed and PMLN Government was doing
nothing for poor labourers except for serving its own interest.

She demanded formulation of policies for women workers, provision of equal
wages to both male and female workers, social security to women workers,
and implementation of labour laws on informal sector, registration of women
and home-based workers.

She urged labour organizations to work jointly for betterment of
workers, while investors and proprietors should give maximam facilities to
their employees. She demanded that labour acts should reviewed and updated.
