PTI-HRC CONDEMNED VIOLATION OF BASIC RIGHTS IN LG ELECTIONS IN CEC MEETING

First meeting of the Central Executive Committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Human Rights Commission was held at PTI, Chairman Secretariat Lahore.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman PTI-HRC Riaz Fatyana and was attended by the members including Executive Director Chairman Secretariat Fazeel Asif, Usman Khawaja Secretary PTI-HRC, Abdullah Malik, Ghazala Saifi, Mansoor Sarwar Khan, Faheem Jehan Zaib, Mazhar Farid Wattoo, Zaheer Abbass Khokhar, MPA Ali Salman Advocate, Rizwan Bashir and Ch Muhammad Asghar.

It was decided by the CEC of PTI-HRC that its launching ceremony shall be held on 10th December, 2015 by the Chairman PTI Imran Khan. The PTI-HRC shall also organize the first international Human Rights Conference on 10th December, 2016 in Islamabad and Executive Director PTI Chairman Secretariat Fazeel Asif shall look after its affairs.
PTI-HRC has discussed its action plans for labor protection, farmer rights and poverty elevations. The action plans for the follow-up cases of Shuhada-e-PTI at courts and police inquiries to ensure justice to their families formulated. Special Fateha was offered and their sacrifices were remembered during the meeting.

MPA Ali Salman Advocate has been appointed as head of Legal Aid cell of PTI-HRC and Barrister Mansoor Sarwar was nominated to monitor violation of human rights at international level.

PTI-HRC has also shown its concern regarding violation of basic fundamental right of citizens to select their representatives in the Local Government Elections
PTI-HRC Chairman Riaz Fatyana said that human rights are the fundamental rights of every human and the Government of Pakistan has failed to ensure these for its citizens. The Govt also failed to implement articles 8 to 28 of the Constitution of Pakistan, which provides state???s guarantee to the people of Pakistan regarding their fundamental rights. Pakistan is also signatory of UN Convention against torture but unfortunately physical and mental torture is common in Police Stations.

PTI-HRC will approach relevant court of law under article 199 of the Constitution of Pakistan to protect and safe guard human rights in Pakistan and overseas, he further added.
