
<p style="text-align: justify;">14/04/2013 - London - <span id="yui_3_7_2_1_1365969979044_2435" style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Today Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) UK organized a massive protest outside Pakistan High Commission, London to demand ???right to vote??? for Overseas Pakistanis. They strongly registered their protest against Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for advising Supreme Court against giving ???Right to Vote??? to Overseas Pakistanis in 2013 General Elections. PTI believes that 4.3m overseas voters??? democratic and constitutional right will be violated by not permitting and facilitating them to cast their votes.</span></p> <p id="yui_3_7_2_1_1365969979044_2425" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_7_2_1_1365969979044_2424" style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">PTI UK representatives from all regions emphasised that after generating more than $13 billion cash for our mother land without any political agenda attached to it, the Overseas Pakistani Community has been systematically disfranchised from the system. They strongly condemn such acts that violate their basic rights and go against the will of the people. They demanded that Elections Commission of Pakistan must extend its support to NADRA and Supreme Court of Pakistan in facilitating overseas Pakistanis in exercising their Constitutional and Human Right.</span></p> <p id="yui_3_7_2_1_1365969979044_2451" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_7_2_1_1365969979044_2450" style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">PTI London President, Shahbaz Khan said, ???In UK, we are also concerned that just 2 polling stations, one in London and other in Bradford, may not be enough to cater 350,000 voters. ECP should also ensure that sufficient polling stations are setup to facilitate overseas voters???.</span></p> <p id="yui_3_7_2_1_1365969979044_2453" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_7_2_1_1365969979044_2452" style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">PTI London???s Vice President Furqan Nadeem, General Secretary M. Shabbir Barlas and Information Secretary Atif Ali Shah echoed their concerns and said that they will continue to fight for ???voting right??? of Overseas Pakistanis until reasonable arrangements have been made to ensure their participation in forthcoming general elections.</span></p>
