PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhary said he is speechless after what police has done
with a 15-year-old school boy who was taking a selfie with a toy gun and
become victim of police brutal firing in Faisalabad. The police officer who
opened fire on boys should at least have warned them before opening fire
he added. He said Police procedures around the world call for giving a fair
warning but unfortunately Punjab police has not apparently done any
training whatsoever. This is not the first time such callousness and brutality
has shown by Punjab police, they have adopted shoot first ask later policy
he added. He said two weeks ago Punjab police did the same thing in
Rawalpindi and shot dead two brothers after they did not stop their
motorcycle at a police check point. The entire police force in Punjab has
been destroyed by Sharif Brothers as they lack professionalism and are only
loyal to Sharif Family he added.
PTI leader Yasmin Rashid said it was CCTV footage that has exposed that
the police, local SHO has declared it as police encounter. Unfortunately
fake encounters are an evil fact of Punjab police and they are habitual to
conduct fake encounters just to tell their bosses that are striving hard to
eliminate criminals she added. She said police firing couldn???t be justified by
any mean. Punjab police has learned nothing from Model Town massacre.
If this practice is allowed then there will be more cases of shooting and the
lives of innocent citizens would be at stake she added. She said Shabaz
Sharif as always took the notice of the incident and moved away. Like in
Model Town case police officers in this case would also be given clean chit.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said such incidents are bound to
happen when criminals would be inducted in the police. IG Abbas Khan???s
report is on the record that Sharif Brothers have inducted criminals in
police force she added. She questioned why such incidents keep surfacing
from Punjab and Sindh province? The reason is obvious that the police
force of Punjab and Sindh are deeply politicized and work under political
influence she added. She said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police undergoes
transformation within two years under PTI government but Punjab police
has grown worse through 30 years of PMLN rule in Punjab. She said by
giving autonomy and independence in the administrative and operational
domain and giving necessary resources, policing anywhere in Pakistan can
improve and PTI has done this in KP. She demanded an independent inquiry
of the incident and the said police officer involved in killing should be taken
to the task.
