Dr. Yasmin Raashid advisor to PTI Chairman said the role of the police in a society is to protect the others but unfortunately protectors have become devils. They way six police officials first kidnaped and then gang raped a woman in Lahore reflects how sick and perverted Punjab Police has become she added. She questioned how can the morally corrupt police bring down crime rate in the province when the police itself patronage the criminals. This is not the first incident where dirty face of Punjab Police has been exposed she added. If such incidents are happening in provincial metropolitan under the nose of Khadam A Alla one can imagine the situation in far off areas where a police official is considered a king. Sharif Brothers have destroyed the entire police force by inducting criminals. Now the gang in police uniform is getting out of control but still Sharif Brothers are happy with their performance as they are serving their political interests she added. She said morally corrupt Punjab Police has become a symbol of shame for Pakistan and has tarnished the image of the country with its filthy acts.
PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the way the police gang raped the woman leaves a stigma on the character of Punjab police. She said poorest of the poor and marginalized are the most frequent victims of police and any thing can be expected from the uniformed gangsters as no one considers himself safe in the hands of police she added. She said guardians of the law think that they are above the law; such black sheep need a strict reality check on them. Such psychos roaming freely in police uniform are dangerous to society and these criminals deserve no mercy she added. She said Punjab police is on a downward spiral not only morally but professionally also. Now Khadam A Alla would take notice of the incident, suspend the police officials and nothing more she added. She said Shabaz Sharif has introduced Digital Monitoring and Smart Policing System in Lahore. All such systems are useless until and unless police is not depoliticized and given autonomy in its operations she added. She said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police is a live example, which has proven that policing anywhere in the country can be improved if given autonomy. She questioned how long it would take Khadam A Alla to depoliticize the police and how many more will be victimized like this?
