SBP Report Exposed PML-N Govt Blatant Lies: PTI | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

Dr. Yasmin Raashid, advisor to PTI Chairman said State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) annual report on electricity production has exposed all the lies of Sharif Brothers who continue to present rosy picture of record electricity production in the country. The SBP report says that electricity production increased by only 1.6 per cent in 2015 she added. She said SBP report has just presented the true picture of country???s power sector infrastructure development under the corrupt regime. Everyone knows what happened with Nandipur power project, Neelum Jhelum hydropower project and Quaid Azam solar park she added. She said if the nation is led to believe Sharif Brothers billion of rupees massive advertisement campaign then we should have become an energy exporting country. The situation on the ground is that hardly few megawatts of electricity was added in the system she added. She said during the last two and half years all we have seen is inauguration of fake power projects. All the promises of Sharif Brothers vanish in thin air as they have miserably failed to solve the energy crisis in the country she added. She said PML-N government has failed to perform in any sector and the public is protesting every day on streets against their governance.

PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the SBP repot has exposed Sharif Brothers truth behind their claims to curb energy crisis and efforts to boost the production. The SBP report says power demand in the country has increased by 4.5 percent in 2015 whereas production saw a paltry rise of 1.6 percent she added. She said the lust of big commissions and kickbacks forced Sharif Brothers to inaugurate new power projects. There was no need to install new power projects in the country when already Pakistan has an installed electricity generation capacity of 22,797MW and the average demand is around 17,000MW she added. She said the SBP report noted that PML-N government has chosen its priorities in the power sector poorly. Instead of focusing on increasing capacity, the bank has said that the transmission and distribution system needed to be improved she added. She said the reason Sharif Brothers did not improve the distribution networks was because it promises less commissions and kickbacks. The nation is still waiting to get the answer to the embezzlement of Rs980 billion in power sector she added. She said even on Monday during his visit to Karachi PM Nawaz Sharif made new promises to construct power projects to make the country self-sufficient in power generation. The SBP report has also exposed wrong policies of PML-N government and sated that the government continues to burden honest consumers for high theft and system losses she added.
