Sharp decline in exports exposed PML-N trade policy | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhary said Pakistan???s economy keep sinking with every passing day while Sharif Brothers keep fooling the nation with cooked up figures. The recent Pakistan Bureau of Statistics report says Pakistan???s export of non-textile products witnessed a negative growth of 9.62 per cent during the first 11 months of the outgoing fiscal year he added. He said in PPP tenure economy was in worst condition but Sharif Brothers with their anti-export policies are bent up destroying Pakistan???s economy even more. Pakistan is sharply losing its market share in Europe, as the exporters are not able to deliver the consignments on time due to rampant load shedding in the country he added. He said the world is a very competitive market for businessmen as it is becoming difficult to operate in Pakistan especially when government keeps burdening them with new taxes. This is the reason Pakistan is witnessing historic capital flight due to flawed policies of government he added.

PTI leader Yasmin Rashid said all the tall claims of Sharif Brothers to turn around the economy vanishes in thin air. The entire nation knows how inefficient and incompetent Sharif Brothers are, their so-called experienced team???s experience has been badly exposed she added. She said PML-N has presented its third budget instead to give invectives to exporters they have put extra burden on them in the form of Gas Infrastructure Development Cess she added. She said GSP Plus facility had not brought about desired results and the efforts of Chaudhary Sarwar have been wasted, as exporters were unable to produce export surplus due to massive energy shortfall.

PTI Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said the drop in exports would have serious consequences for the economy but Sharif Brothers were not addressing the reasons behind it. PML-N will miss the export target of $27 billion they set for the current fiscal year she added. She said now Federal Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir is ready to give another lollipop to the nation as he is coming with new trade policy. The Federal Ministers who lives in virtual world wants to set the export target of $40 billion under the new policy; this unrealistic target is not achievable she added. She said Bangladesh with much less resources has become a paradise for investors and giving tough time to Pakistan exports especially in textile sector. With continuous fall in exports the trade deficit also widened by 11.73% amounting to $19.735 billion in July-May 2014-15 against $17.663 billion in the same period last year she added. She said things would never improve until and unless Sharif Brothers bring reforms in the country and stop their anti export policies.
