Another step towards changing people's lives : Several tube-wells supplying drinking water to people in parts of Lower Dir have been converted to solar power. The cost of this project was 4.5 Million Rupees and 6 more tube-wells will be transferred to solar panels soon.
The operator of the scheme, Gul Zada, says earlier it took eight hours to fill the water tank situated at a distance of four Kilometres from the tube-well, but now it took only three hours to fulfill the needs of villagers. He said the water supply scheme often got disrupted due to electricity low voltage and prolonged outages. But now the problem has been solved because of solar panel installation.
