PTI Statement pertaining to the letter written by six judges

This statement pertains to the letter written by six judges of Islamabad High Court to the Chief Justice of Pakistan regarding the illegal and unconstitutional interference of secret agencies in judicial affairs.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf expresses deep concern over the troubling, distressing, and alarming contents of the letter and urgently calls for action from the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The letter by judges of the High Court have affirmed the veracity of the stance taken by the founding chairman Imran Khan and the Tehreek-e-Insaf regarding the illegal and unconstitutional activities carried out by secret agencies and state institutions.

Installation of spying devices at the residences of former federal ministers and key leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf, including Prime Minister Imran Khan was conducted. The letter registered a formal complaint regarding these intrusive actions.

During the last 75 years in general, and during the last 23 months, due to the unconstitutional acts of these agencies and institutions, Pakistan has become a victim of abrogation of constitution and law, basic human rights and democracy.

The relentless interference of secret agencies and state institutions has resulted in the gravest robbery in the nation's history, undermining the public mandate and transforming the elected majority into a marginalized minority, subjected to acts of revenge.

Instead of adhering to the constitution and legal frameworks, the blatant disregard for these by certain agencies and their affiliated individuals has essentially transformed Pakistan into a lawless jungle.

No segment or faction of society, be it civil society members, journalists, government officials, judges, or anyone else, is safe from this disgraceful interference.

The time has come to take decisive action against this disgusting tradition prevalent in the country and make secret agencies and state institutions bound by the constitution and law.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supports in principle the proposals of the respected judges of the High Court and their request to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and reiterates its long-standing request to the Chief Justice for immediate and decisive action.
