PTI Core Committee Meeting – Press Release

An important meeting of the core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took place today in which following points were discussed:

• Deep concern was expressed over the delay of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan’s bail in Islamabad High Court in the Toshakhana case.
• Who is the one who, without any legal justification wants the Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf to be kept under arrest.
• The nation is witness that the state did not have any legal justification to keep Imran Khan in jail yesterday nor today.
• Core Committee Tehreek-e-Insaf has fully revealed the hidden revenge and flaws in the court verdict that came out as a result of the worst trial in the Tosha Khana case.
• The Election Commission's attempts to target the Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, who is imprisoned in the worst conditions, by delaying the matter, is also evident to the nation.
• It is also very regrettable that the Supreme Court allowed the Election Commission to waste court time and deprive the illegally imprisoned Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf of his basic constitutional rights.
• Delay in justice is equal to murder of justice, the nation demands an immediate stop to the mockery with the constitution and law.
• It is hoped that orders will be issued for suspension of the sentence and release of Chairman Imran Khan without further mischief and delay in the matter.
• We strongly condemn the extension of the remand of Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi for another 2 days and the continued violation of the constitutional and legal rights of PTI President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
• Demand to immediately recover and release all citizens who were abducted and disappeared including Advocate Hassan Niazi and Senator Aoun Abbas Bappi.
• Immediate release of senior leaders and brave women activists imprisoned in jails for bare revenge and to crush Tehreek-e-Insaf is also very necessary for the restoration of the constitution, law, rights and democratic and human values.
• The core committee of Tehreek-e-Insaf will continue with all legitimate political and legal measures for the immediate release of all leaders and workers, including Chairman Imran Khan.
• The core committee of Tehreek-e-Insaf will not retreat an inch from the supremacy of the constitution and law, the restoration and promotion of democracy, the protection of the economic and political rights of the people and the movement for real freedom, independence and sovereignty of Pakistan.
• The decision to participate in the nationwide protest against the worst inflation in the country's history, especially the explosive electricity rates.
• The rapid spread of poverty and bankruptcy in the country and the destruction of the purchasing power of the people is the achievement of the criminal government of PDM, which includes the Muslim League Nawaz, People's Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, among others.
• The conspiracy against the elected democratic government of PTI was carried out when the people were remarkably comfortable compared to today, while the economy was growing at an annual rate of 6%.
• Criminals imposed as a result of the regime change conspiracy became the source of the worst inflation and economic destruction in the country.
• Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan continuously informed the nation about the details of this destruction during 16 months.
• Imran Khan has been constantly pointing out that managing the economy or saving the people from the storm of inflation was not the agenda of these criminals, nor did they have the ability to do so.
• Imran Khan was locked up in jail through a false case and fake trial to suppress the voices of people against the economic massacre.
• We will be the voice of the people against the worst inflation and unbearable electricity bills.
• Tehreek-e-Insaf core committee will fully participate in the public protest against the daily robbery of people's pockets through electricity bills.
• Clean, transparent, and immediate elections are the effective means to rid the nation of bare robbery.
• Instead of wasting the valuable time of the nation on exhibition operations, the caretaker government should immediately prepare to hand over the power to the legitimate and elected government of the people.
