Military Trial of Civilians

• PTI responds to the matter of the decision of the Larger Bench of the Supreme Court regarding the trial of Civilian population in Military Courts
• The decision of the Supreme Court's larger bench on the trial of civilians in military courts is no less than "Judicial Coup" against the Constitution and a violation of fundamental human rights.
• In any civilized democratic society of the world, there is not even a trace of military courts or trials of the civilian population in them.
• Even in our constitution, there is no provision for trials in military courts of civilian population.
• The bench comprising senior judges of the Supreme Court on the matter clarified the purpose of the constitution and the law through its very appropriate decision and saved the country from a major constitutional accident.
• An honorable member of the Supreme Court's lager bench, which reviewed the matter, also disagreed with today's decision.
• After the Supreme Court's decision, the reaction of lawyers and legal experts reflects the concern across the nation.
• With the decision of the revision bench, there is a fear of serious deterioration in the constitutional order and order of the country.
• During the hearing of the case, the remarks of some members of the bench are a cause of concern.
• After practically depriving the country of its constitution, destrying the solid and stable constitutional structures/limitations will open the doors of complex crises instead of reforming the country.
• The main duty of the Supreme Court is to protect both the constitution and the fundamental rights.
• Tehreek-e-Insaf has been a critic of the trials in the military courts of the civilian population and is obliged to take all possible constitutional, legal and political ways in this regard.
• Tehreek-e-Insaf rejects and will fight back legally with the help of the civil society, against the organized attack on human rights in the country by naming citizens in false, fake and fabricated cases through military trials with the help of the constitution and civil society.
